A safari in the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit is a breathtaking adventure through some of Africa's most iconic national parks and wildlife reserves. From the expansive plains of the Serengeti to the dramatic scenery of Ngorongoro Crater, the landscapes themselves are awe-inspiring.

Are Safaris strenuous?
Below are some factors to consider regarding the physical demands of a safari:
1. Game Drives: Safaris involve game drives in a specially designed 4x4 Landrover. Because you will be comforatbly seated when observing wildlife, direct physical exertion will not be experienced. However, game drives can be bumpy when traversing thru rough terrain in a 4x4 Landrover. Just imagine your body being tilted left and right constantly because of the uneven terrain your Landrover encounters when your guide is trying to drive you as close as possible toward the wildlife.
2. Weather Conditions: Depending on the season, weather conditions can impact the physical demands. Hot weather may make game drives more tiring, so it's essential to stay hydrated and take breaks when needed.
3. Accommodations: Some lodges or camps might require walking between your accommodations, dining areas, and other facilities. The terrain in certain camps might involve walking on uneven paths or slight inclines.

Am I guaranteed to see the "Big Five" on Safari?
Seeing the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) on safari is a common goal for many travelers, but it's important to note that wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
Several factors influence the likelihood of seeing these animals:
1. Wildlife Behavior: These animals roam freely in their natural habitats. While they inhabit the areas you'll visit, their movements can be unpredictable, and they might not always be in plain sight.
2. Time of Year: Wildlife sightings can be influenced by the time of year and the specific location. For instance, during the dry season, animals might gather around water sources, increasing your chances of spotting them.
3. Duration of the Safari: Longer safaris or visits to multiple parks increase the chances of encountering the Big Five. Different parks have varying populations and habitats, affecting the likelihood of seeing certain species.
4. Chance and Luck: Ultimately, wildlife sightings also depend on chance and luck. While some days may yield incredible sightings, others might have fewer encounters. Thus it is essential to approach a safari with the understanding that wildlife viewing is a natural experience and can be unpredictable.
Our experienced guides have a deep understanding of animal behavior and the terrain. They communicate via radio with other guides as to the latest wildlife sightings increasing your chances to see the "Big Five" or the wildebeest river crossing during the “Great Migration", by taking you to areas with higher wildlife activity.
While there are no guarantees, many visitors do have the chance to see a significant portion, if not all, of the Big Five during their Tanzania safari.

Why are Tanzania Safaris expensive?
Tanzania safaris can be perceived as expensive due to several factors:
1. Conservation Fees and Transportation Cost: National parks and reserves in Tanzania charge entrance fees and conservation fees, which contribute to the upkeep of these protected areas. For example the Ngorongoro Crater fee for our Landrover to enter the crater is $250 alone. Once adding guest & guide fees, park fees can add up quickly, especially if visiting multiple parks. Also, petrol is expensive, as is maintaining the safari vehicles. As such, generally the more seats in the car are occupied, the less costly the safari.
2. High Demand: Tanzania is renowned for its wildlife and natural beauty, attracting a high demand from tourists worldwide. This demand often leads to higher prices for accommodations.
3. Infrastructure and Logistics: Operating safaris in remote and wild areas requires significant logistical support, including transportation, guides, staff, and facilities. Maintaining these infrastructures in such environments can drive up costs.

While we previously tried to offer public group safaris, it proved to be impossible due to the many variables, such as desired safari destinations, safari length, accommodations and desired start dates.
As such we now offer personalized private group safaris to our guests who come as families, friends or co-workers.
Our safaris, no matter how short or long are all inclusive (experienced guides, transportation, park fees, accommodations and meals).
We also offer options to suit different budgets, such as camping (pitching our tents at a public campsite), budget tented camps, mid-range and luxury lodges.
While public group safaris are less costly as every seat in the vehicle is occupied, private safaris offer maximum flexibility concerning the time you choose to travel, safari destinations, length of safari and your accommodation choice.
